Richard, Judy and Graham

Last December Graham was a guest on Channel Four’s Richard and Judy show, talking about his book The Templars and the Ark of the Covenant. The same program of this extremely popular British television chat show had an exclusive interview with Tom Hanks. During the show, footage was shown of the sites involved with the search for the lost Ark, while Graham had a lively discussion about his book and investigations with hosts Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan.
Judy thought it was an “absolutely fabulous bit of detective work”. “It’s a wonderful Victorian puzzle,’ she said, concerning the mysterious code Graham thinks he has decoded in a nineteenth-century church. Judy was intrigued by the entire quest. “It would make the most fascinating television play: the whole thing, it’s just wonderful,” she said.
Richard too thought the book was “a fascinating read”, and when Graham was talking of his hope to arrange an archaeological survey of the area where he believes the Ark is hidden, Richard interjected enthusiastically, “We’ll do it with you.”
Graham was invited back to appear on the show again when Shropshire Tourism launched its King Arthur trail booklet based on the research in King Arthur: The True Story. A few days before he appeared on the show Graham took the film crew around the locations in Shropshire that he believes were associated with an historical figure behind the Arthurian legend. Live in the studio, over footage of the sites, Graham explained why he is convinced that Arthur came from central England and not the South West of the country as portrayed in the popular myth. Richard was fascinated by Graham’s historical research. “I have to say, you put forward a very compelling case,” he said.
Judy was most impressed by the trail booklet. “It looks absolutely fabulous,” she said. “Tintagel must be grinding its teeth.” |
