Holly

December 21 – 31

As holly berries remain on the tree all winter long, they are a much-needed food source for birds.  Also, as holly was the only large-leafed evergreen tree native to northwest Europe, it was firmly associated with winter survival.  Holly decorated homes during the midwinter solstice around December 21 and the tradition still survives today at Christmas.

Those born in the Holly sign can modify and adapt their behavior to suit their present company and current predicament.  The Holly person is forever challenging the world around them.  They possess a mischievous quality that sometimes bewilders those about them and few but the most perceptive will know the Holly’s true intentions. They also have the capacity to grasp the root of a problem, possessing shrewd insight into the true cause of difficulties they encounter.  Holly people are forthright and astute; they have inquiring and probing minds and are remarkably self-disciplined.  They can, however, have an eccentric side to their nature that some people find disturbing.
