Ash seeds hang in bunches all winter long to be finally scattered by the March winds.  As this occurs during the cycle of Imbolc which continued until early March, the tree was another that was sacred to this time of year.  It represented a male aspect of the Imbolc season because the Celtic warriors made their spear shafts and arrows from ash wood.

Those born in the Ash sign are romantic and affectionate, although sometimes a little too sentimental.  They are open and giving and willingly offer their trust.  They allow themselves to be captivated by those who bring adventure to their lives, providing it is not too disruptive.  For the Ash to be at their best, they need a stable partner who has a responsible attitude to life.  Ash people have a strong affinity with nature and are usually extremely fond of animals.  Many vegetarians are born in this sign.
