Dogwood

October 21 - 30

The dogwood’s black fruit appears in the early fall and sprigs from this small bush were used to decorate homes during the harvest festivals of autumn time.  As its twigs are conspicuously red on the south, sun-facing side, it was considered nature’s promise that after the long nights of winter to come the sun would reassert itself.

Those born in the dogwood cycle have a serious outlook on life, coupled with a strong sense of responsibility.   Their ambition is supported by a shrewd intellect and the ability to devote themselves exclusively to an enterprise.    Observant and inquisitive, the Dogwood person is quick to learn.    They are especially loyal to their friends and take family values seriously.  They may though tend to be to judgmental and have a tendency to be somewhat opinionated in their views.
