Juniper

October 31 - November 12

The juniper tree was sacred to the start of winter as the aromatic smoke form its burning wood was said to be cleansing.  Samhain on October 31 was the chief fire festival of the year and juniper bonfires were lit to keep away evil spirits that were thought might otherwise be free to wreak havoc in wintertime.

The main characteristic of those born in the sign of the Juniper is the ability to create possibilities from very little.  They are optimistic in the extreme, seldom accepting anything as hopeless.  Usually able to find some good even in their worst enemies, the Juniper is remarkably resilient. They have a close affinity with nature and are often conservationists and vegetarians. Life is an adventure for the Juniper, although a craving for excitement may lead to tricky situations.  Always eager for new experiences, and ready to rise to the challenge, the Juniper’s life is full of surprise.  They  may, however, be a little naive in their attitude to life.
