As the leaves of the poplar do not appear until well into summer, this was another tree sacred to this season.  Poplar trees were planted in sacred avenues that led to midsummer sun temples.  The Celts believed that the voice of the sun god could be heard in the sea-like sound that the wind makes when it blows through the poplar tree.

Those born in the Poplar sign will take a central role in social activities.  They are always ready to give advice and are often the best shoulder on which to cry.  Their own problems, however, they keep to themselves, being the last to worry others with their own concerns.   It is so difficult to tell what the Poplar person is thinking or, more importantly, how they are feeling.   People born in this sign tend to be emotional and sometimes far to sentimental for their own good.
