Yew

December 9 - 20

The yew can survive for centuries and has long been associated with old age and death.  It is still seen to decorate cemeteries even today.  The Celts did not associate death with the end, however, but considered it a new beginning.  As such, this tree represented the end of the year and was venerated as midwinter approached.

Those born in the Yew sign have a stubborn streak.  They prefer to do things their own way - even when they know they are wrong.  Often a dreamer, the Yew person may refuse to face reality when problems occur.  However, they are one of the most imaginative people of any sign and tend to be able to solve problems others find hard. They are deep thinkers and extremely creative.  This is a sign of the musicians, artists and writers.
